Shoulder pain Stopping your CrossFit Training?

Let Us Help Fix That!

At Action Potential, we help CrossFit Athletes in Round Rock fix their shoulder pain without losing momentum in the gym

Your Shoulder Probably didn’t start as pain…

It likely started like this:

  • Your shoulder felt tired earlier in workouts

  • You notice weakness in overhead positions (pushing or pulling

  • Warm-ups keep getting longer, if they worked at all

  • Certain movements feel inconsistent or unstable

  • Some days feel fine… others feel off for no reason

You probably have questions

  • “If I keep training, am I making this worse?”

  • “Is this something that’s going to stick around for the rest of my life?”

  • “Do I need to take time off from the gym?”

  • “Am I just breaking down & at the end of my ‘career‘?”

Why it keeps coming back

Most Athletes have tried to improve things by:

  • Taking time off & praying it gets better

  • Doing random mobility work your coach saw on social media

  • Dusting off old PT exercises you got the last time you got hurt

  • Stretching before class longer than the actual workout

  • Using ice or anti-inflammatories, without knowing what is inflamed

And it might calm things down, but it likely doesn’t hold because the problem isn’t just pain—
It’s how your shoulder is choosing to handle the loads you are exposing it to during training.

Our Approach:

(Without Pulling You Out of Class)

1. Calm down Pain + Restore Motion

We reduce irritation and help your shoulder move the way it’s supposed to again.

2. Improve Strength Where You Were Weak

New range without strength = same problem later.

We build control and stability so your shoulder can actually handle training demands.

3. Get You Back to Training at Full Speed

We help guide you back to:

  • Kipping Pull-ups

  • Olympic Weight Lifting

  • High-volume Metcons & High Load Strength Workouts

You don’t just feel better—you move better under load.

Who Responds Best to Our Treatment

Athletes in general, but people who:

  • You train consistently (CrossFit, lifting, conditioning)

  • You don’t want to stop training—you want to fix the issue

  • You’re willing to follow a plan, not just chase relief

  • You care about long-term performance, not quick fixes

What we deliver to our athletes

  • Getting back to workouts without shoulder pain

  • Not having to scale movements every class

  • Feeling strong and stable overhead again

  • Training consistently without setbacks

  • Not thinking about your shoulder all day after a workout

What Our Athletes Have to Say

“After working with Dr. Chase, I find myself asking “why didn't I go see someone years ago for my shoulders”. Just after a few weeks I am now able to do exercises & movements that would normally leave me incapacitated for days with minimal discomfort and I am loosing weight because I am able to constantly workout. I am so happy to have found Dr. Chase and excited for the progress to come!”

- Pat D.

“Chase is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Hip and shoulder mobility is where I am weakest and the stretches Chase helped me with has increased my range of motion/mobility. He’s also incredibly friendly, personable, and “real”, which makes working with him great!”

- Jordan B.

“After working with Chase and Katherine for several months, I can confidently say they’ve completely resolved issues I had been dealing with for years in my wrists, shoulders, and back. Their approach is thorough and focused on fixing the root cause rather than just providing temporary relief. During that time I also developed a knee issue, and they were able to diagnose and correct that as well. They’re incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely care about their patients’ long-term health and mobility. I’m extremely grateful for the progress I’ve made working with them and would highly recommend them to anyone dealing with pain or mobility problems”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We believe every human is, or can be, an athlete; the field of play or competition stage may just look different. Having an athletic mindset (willing to put in the blood, sweat, & tears) is a non-negotiable though for all patients at Action Potential.

  • No, you do not have to stop going to the gym or playing your sport of choice; and in fact, we recommend you continue staying active while working with us at Action Potential. The gym often is much more than exercise for the majority of our athletes. We give our athletes/patients guidance on how to navigate staying active & connected to their fitness communities without continuing to aggravate their current issues.

  • Chiropractic adjustments are but one of many tools that we can use when treating. You do not need to get adjusted to receive benefits from treatment. Often treatment will involve more soft tissue & rehab work. There may be select circumstances where adjusting will be recommended based on your specific problem, but again, there are many ways to get joints moving without using chiropractic adjustments.

  • We are “Fitness & Health Libertarians.”… You can do whatever you want.

While often the first thing for the vast majority of patients to see change, we do not recommend stopping once your symptoms subside. The real long-term changes come after as we change how your body moves & deals with external load/demands.

  • Outside of providing a Super Bill, we do not work directly with any insurance provider. The super bill we can provide you allows your insurance to reimburse you for the visits (amount reimbursed depends on provider & plan)

  • Our patients are expected to do the rehab & mobility drills prescribed by the clinicians during their visit. The best results come from athletes/patients who are consistent with doing their at-home exercises/drills.
